As you may know by now, we are going to be launching our own crowd sourcing campaign pretty soon. So it is safe to say that trends in this space are of much importance to us. While doing some research, we came across an interesting development. This illuminating article on Polygon, one of the top websites for video game news and reviews shows a sharp decline in crowd funding for video games, and even more interesting, board games and other tabletop gaming experiences have experienced an explosion in interest and funding. While we do love video games, it is cool to see people placing a renewed focus on gaming together in real life. So many more meaningful things can happen when you are together, and there is something that is hard to explain but is uniquely satisfying when you game with real, physical items like dice or miniature figures. Maybe that is why Nintendo introduced the Amiibo toys that bridge traditional and video games together.
